Asphalt Mixture with Scrap Tire Rubber and Nylon Fiber from Waste Tires: Laboratory Performance and Preliminary M-E Design Analysis

چکیده

Scrap tire rubber and nylon fiber are waste materials that could potentially be recycled used to improve the mechanical properties of asphalt pavement. The objective this research was investigate scrap (R-F) modified warm mix mixture (WMA). high-temperature performance estimated by Hamburg wheel-tracking testing (HWTT) device. low-temperature cracking evaluated disk-shaped compact tension (DCT) test indirect tensile strength (IDT) test. stress strain relationship assessed dynamic modulus at various temperatures frequencies. extracted binder shear rheometer (DSR). Pavement distresses were predicted pavement mechanistic-empirical (M-E) analysis. results showed that: (1) R-F WMA had better rutting performance. conventional hot (HMA) 21.8%~103% lower than high temperatures. wheel passes stripping point 2.17 5.8 times higher those HMA, respectively. Moreover, a index original asphalt. (2) resistance low temperature. failure energy 24.3% fracture 7.7% HMA. (3) distress prediction same trend compared with laboratory in helped IRI, AC cracking, In summary, can applied construction.

Center for By-Products Utilization PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE CONTAINING SCRAP TIRE RUBBER – AN OVERVIEW

Solid waste management is one of the major environmental concern in the United States. Over 5 billion tons of non-hazardous solid waste materials are generated in US each year. Out of which more than 273 million scrap tires (approximately 3.6 million tons) are generated each year. In addition to this, about 3 billion tires are stockpiled. Several studies have been carried out to reuse scrap tir...

Properties of concrete containing scrap-tire rubber--an overview.

Solid waste management is one of the major environmental concerns in the United States. Over 5 billion tons of non-hazardous solid waste materials are generated in USA each year. Of these, more than 270 million scrap-tires (approximately 3.6 million tons) are generated each year. In addition to this, about 300 million scrap-tires have been stockpiled. Several studies have been carried out to re...

Engineering Controlled Low Strength Materials Using Scrap Tire Rubber

An investigation was conducted to determine the influence of recycled scrap tire rubber on the engineering properties of controlled low strength material (CLSM). With control over the ultimate compressive strength of CLSMs being key for applications such as backfilling utility trenches where re-excavation is often necessary, incorporation of scrap tire rubber into the CLSM mixture is a viable w...
